Leadership Through Experience

Our approach to business mentorship comes from lived experience rather than theoretical frameworks. Each member of our team has navigated the complexities of building, scaling, and sometimes rebuilding businesses across different economic cycles.

Cordelia Hartwell, Founding Director

Cordelia Hartwell

Founding Director

Started her first consulting practice in Melbourne back in 2019, then spent five years learning what actually works in Australian business culture. Now focuses on helping others avoid the mistakes she made early on.

Built on Real Stories, Not Success Myths

We've noticed that most business education focuses on the highlight reel - the big wins, the overnight successes, the perfect strategies that always work. But real business growth happens in the messy middle, when you're trying to figure out cash flow while managing client expectations and wondering if you're making the right decisions.

That's exactly where our experience becomes valuable. We've been through those uncertain moments and learned what actually helps versus what sounds good in theory.

MR

Marcus Rosenberg

Strategy Advisor

Spent fifteen years in corporate finance before switching to small business consulting in 2021. Brings a practical understanding of how financial decisions actually play out over time, especially during Australia's recent economic shifts.

Collective Knowledge, Individual Perspectives

What makes our mentorship different is that we've all taken different paths to get here. Marcus comes from traditional finance, Cordelia built her expertise through trial and error in consulting, and our extended network includes people who've succeeded in retail, technology, and service industries.

"I wish someone had told me earlier that business growth isn't about having all the answers upfront. It's about developing good judgment for making decisions with incomplete information." - Cordelia on what she learned after her third year in business.

Small Business Reality

Understanding cash flow cycles, client management, and growth decisions when you're still doing most of the work yourself.

Financial Planning

Making sense of business finances beyond just tracking income and expenses - planning for growth, managing risk, understanding your numbers.

Strategic Thinking

Developing the ability to see patterns, anticipate challenges, and make decisions that position your business well for whatever comes next.

Client Relationships

Building sustainable business relationships that work for both sides, setting boundaries, and creating value that clients actually appreciate.

How We Got Here

The path that led to sorevalinthex wasn't planned from the beginning. It evolved through a combination of individual experiences, shared challenges, and a growing understanding of what business mentorship could actually accomplish.

2019-2021

Individual Journeys Begin

Cordelia was figuring out consulting in Melbourne while Marcus was questioning whether corporate finance was teaching him anything useful for real-world business decisions. Both were learning that traditional business education left some pretty significant gaps.

2022-2023

Informal Networks Form

Started meeting other business owners who were dealing with similar challenges - not necessarily in the same industries, but facing comparable decisions about growth, risk, and strategy. These conversations became more valuable than most formal training programs.

2024

sorevalinthex Takes Shape

Realized that what we'd been doing informally - sharing experiences, working through challenges together, learning from each other's mistakes - could be structured into something more intentional. sorevalinthex was born from this recognition.

2025 Forward

Building Something Different

Now we're focused on creating mentorship experiences that bridge the gap between business theory and practical implementation. Our programs launching in late 2025 will reflect everything we've learned about what actually helps people make better business decisions.
